Questions

What's in the PDF?

A 5-page plan set made for your rack size: finished dimensions, a shopping list, the cut list, a cutting layout for each 8 ft board, runner positions, and numbered assembly steps with a safety note.

What tools and skill level do I need?

A tape measure, speed square, miter or circular saw, drill/driver, clamps and a level. It's a beginner-to-intermediate build that takes about 5 hours.

What tote does it fit?

The HDX 27 gallon Tough Storage Tote (the black-and-yellow one). The plans assume its 28.5″ × 19.625″ lid and 1.25″ lid lip, and tell you how to adjust if your tote differs. For other totes, request a custom quote.

How do I get the plans?

Right after paying, your PDF downloads automatically. Print it or open it on a tablet in the shop.

Which way do the totes go in?

Your choice. Lengthwise keeps the rack narrow (about 28.5″ deep). Sideways turns the totes so the rack is only about 19.6″ deep, which sticks out far less in a tight basement or garage, but each opening is wider.

Can I add a tabletop?

Yes. The plans add a 1/2″ plywood top with a 1-1/2″ overhang, cut from one 4 × 8 sheet. It's available while the top fits on a single sheet (up to 4 wide lengthwise, or 2 wide sideways).

What if I need a different size later?

Each purchase covers one size. If you want another, just buy again for that size or email me.
